Appearance-
With very pale skin, icy blue eyes and long, dark hair, Viori is, much to her chagrin, often mistaken to be an emo or goth of some sort. She wears her hair scraped back almost painfully and tied up in a high ponytail, and very neat, almost boring clothing. Viori won’t walk out of the house without at least some make-up and a smooth, clean appearance, since she is somewhat of a neat freak. Her hair is always slick-straight and her face is carefully clean of blemishes like pimples and blackheads. She isn’t overly outstanding about her clothes and wears tight jeans and T-shirts on usual days, and isn’t particularly given to wearing plunging necklines or tiny miniskirts, although baggy clothing bothers and annoys her. Her choice of shoes is almost always high heels, since Viori is very short, just reaching 5’1”. Viori’s body shape is petite and very lean, seeing as she isn’t the most athletic or strongest in the world.
Personality-
Viori is a mystery to others. She is generally emotionless, and seemingly eternally patient, even with ‘normals’, although she does consider them lower, though never openly degrades them. She is a feminist, and very introspective, often looking deep within herself as well as within others. She often acts humbly, if not in an inferior way to people, and has a polite, calm demeanour, and it can’t easily be shook. She doesn’t get angry easily and, when she does, it is often very quick, though violent, although she has a bad tendency to hold a grudge.
Viori is unshakably loyal, not being much of a leader herself, and is good at placing trust and respect. To people she doesn’t respect, she is ‘politely insulting’- casually degrading them but never going over the line. When other people degrade her, Viori takes the insults with an emotionless and calm expression, almost agreeing before walking away. Pain also doesn’t seem to bother her- her bones can be broken and knees scraped without her shedding a single tear.
Viori isn’t one for intimate relationships or over-indulging. Sex disgusts her and she shows very little interest in getting a boyfriend, or girlfriend, for that matter. She stays away from alcohol, preferring to always know what she’s doing, and gambling, believing life is enough of one already.
History
Viori is one of the Romany people, or, as they’re better known, Gypsies. Much of her family was oppressed by Hitler in World War II, and her father and mother were one of the few that escaped the concentration camps. They scrounged up a measly living in the German countryside for years after, and then travelled to Munich after saving up enough money for a shabby apartment on the outskirts of the city. After that, they worked as squeegees- waiting beside stoplights and washing car windshields for money on the bigger inner-city streets. Viori was the youngest of the five children born to her parents, and she lived within a Romany clan that populated a small area of Munich. She spent much of her childhood indoors, forbidden to go out by her fearful parents.
When Viori was seven she and the rest of the Romany clan were run out of the city by angry Aryans. Her father was killed by the mob as well as her two sisters. Her mother, who had Cuban background, scraped up their earnings enough to send her three remaining children, Viori, and her two brothers, to Havana, Cuba. There, unfortunately, their problems were worse, since they were surrounded by uprisings against Fidel Castro and heavy drug trades. Viori’s oldest brother was sent to prison for joining the small rebellions blossoming across the island, and so, at twelve, Viori’s remaining brother, Giuseppe, pledged to go to America. They stole away with other refugees on a boat laden with cocaine, receiving safe passage to Florida if they delivered the cocaine to an American drug lord waiting on the Miami shore.
Unfortunately, a midnight squall ripped apart the tiny boat three-quarters of the way to Florida, and Viori and her brother managed to get a hold of one of the two lifeboats. The captain, who was more interested in saving his drugs than his passengers, shot at them until they were off, and Viori’s brother took a fatal hit, dying in the lifeboat when the squall had passed. Viori left her brother, unable to drag the lifeboat all the way to Florida, and swam to the shoreline. Luckily, coming from Cuba, the ‘wet-foot, dry-foot’ policy could admit Viori- if she touched American soil, she would be able to get American citizenship in one year. She managed to swim the short distance back to Miami, and was found on the beach by the Coast Guard. However, only being thirteen, Viori was sent to a foster home. For a year, she moved from city to city, until she finally settled in one of the most affected areas of the Red Virus. She picked up the remaining spores of the virus, but was not killed. Again, she was moved to a foster home, this time to one of a racer, and got American citizenship shortly before entering East Wood High.
